Yet another reminder that the Democratic party never was, and never will be, a vessel for meaningful change, but rather a busybox and pressure-release valve for centrists and left-liberals in lieu of direct action.
There you go again, living in a bubble where it all goes back to Israel being some "genocidal colonialist state" that persecutes brown people in the Gaza Strip for no good reason (never mind that the Israeli population includes Ethiopian Jews, Sephardic Jews and Arab Bedouins.) It's almost as if an actual genocidal organization that wants to exterminate Israelis (whether Jewish, Christian or Muslim) doesn't even exist. Never mind that they do exist and are quite proud of their handiwork.
And it gets very tiresome whenever the Gaza death toll is repeated over and over again without differentiating civilian deaths from Hamas terrorists and enemy combatants, which totals a little over 20,000. And yes, that includes kids that have been indoctrinated into becoming little terrorists seeking Shahadat (martyrdom).
Frankly, I'm glad I got myself red-pilled from leftism when I did because now I can see that it has become so thoroughly depraved in its pro-Hamas propaganda that a couple of Paddystinians castigate a pro-Hamas, self-hating Jew like Bernie Sanders for not being pro-Hamas enough. What more do you want from him to do to show his solidarity? Murder some Israeli Embassy workers like that Marxist psychopath Elias Rodriguez?
It's also quite telling that the pro-Hamas crowd has a pretty big tent that happens to include strange bedfellows like Andrew Tate, Candace Owens and Nick Fuentes. Think about that: the worst of the worst in white supremacists, misogynists and Neo-Nazis are on your side when it comes to making false accusations about Israel's campaign against Islamo-Nazi terror. It's what's called the Horseshoe Theory. Look it up.
Genocide is genocide- there’s no way to sugar coat it to make opposing it more palpable to your allies. You’re either for genocide or anti- genocide. I too have been disappointed in Bernie’s refusal to call it what it is! A moral issue such as this is one in which you can’t equivocate on. Maybe Bernie is a “liberal Zionist “ in disguise, even though he doesn’t accept $ from the Israel Lobby.
Every time one of you left-libs writes about this guy and Palestine you write in that NYT extra passive voice reserved for cops and Israel. You never want to ask yourself why he doesn't want to call it a genocide. Sanders like every American politician (including Zohran and AOC) is a functional genocidal zionist and war criminal. Deep down he believes that Palestinians are lesser people deserving of subjugation by the zionist project. All his talk is just to ease his conscious and preserve his self image. Every accusation levied at Biden applies to Sanders.
He’s a lying fraud who sells books to the most gullible people out there. He supports Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people because he’s a Jewish supremacist
Look, no one's perfect, but Bernie's one of the (VERY) few politicians who's earned my benefit of the doubt. Whether it's for personal, professional, or diplomatic reasons, I'm assuming he's put thought into the best course of action for his place as a sitting Senator, with popular support behind him. It's not ideal, to be sure, but the perfect can't be the enemy of the good when the alternative is so, so evil.
But that’s the thing. He himself has never said that he has put a lot of thought into the best course of action. And nothing is stopping him from doing so. Risking the accusatory tone, you are lowering your own expectations of him. I personally would characterize him as someone who actively thwarts any meaningful discussion especially with the platform he has.
How can he look his ally, Rashida Tlaib, in the face and not call it what it was. Love ya Bernie but this ain’t it. Call a spade a spade.

So Bernie can call it barbaric, unspeakable, and despicable, but "genocide" is where he draws the line?
Let's call sharks "misunderstood swimmers" because "predators" feels too harsh.

>Ms O’Meara Sanders said calling the current events genocide would alienate significant allies in the US
I've said for awhile that she's a bad influence on him. Saw it firsthand when I worked for his campaign.
This isn't as bad as that time he responded to a similar comment (don't remember the specifics off hand) with "Israel has a right to defend itself."

He's earned the benefit of my doubt, too, but I no longer have any doubt here. He is wrong on this.
