Age is one thing, but age plus a serious/incurable disease is something altogether different, and failing marks for those staff members of the two Dems recently expired not doing what needed to be done, especially in the light of a nearly even-split House.
Whoa! Your age-ism is offensive! Democrats can be (and have been) in effect, moribund, but it is seriously offensive and short sighted and the kind of invidious rhetoric we should deplore to condemn an entire generation as mindless and self indulgent.
it’s not an entire generation (the author says so when he mentions his dad’s good politics) but the boomers have been the biggest voting bloc in the country since they came of age. they gave us reagan (gutting of social services, cuting taxes to benefit the rich) and clinton (crime bill, mass incarceration, a racist and sexiest welfare “reform,” the abandonment of the working class, repealing regulations on banks that had been in place [for very good reason! this would prove important in 2008!] since the great depression), w (the war in iraq [half a million desd iraqis], recession, more tax cuts for the rich, stopping our civil liberties) and countless other horrific things. as the article says, they pulled up the ladder because they wanted to pay less in taxes and they didn’t want black and brown folk to have decent lives. that generation has a lot to answer for and it’s not ageist to point this out.

Leaving aside the downstream effects: I am glad they died and I hope it was unpleasant for them.
That is a horrible thing to say. Stop and think please before you post such nastiness.

There is one threat to our democracy and that is Trump and Republicans, period!
Then you should want to have Democrats who can show up to vote against them and not have to miss votes because they're too old or too sick
This. Self-evidently, this.
