Boy I'm really glad all the companies want a return to the office! That should work out well considering that COVID protocol in the general public isn't as good as the White House!

This part of the CNN article stood out to me: “Biden has a runny nose, dry cough and is experiencing some fatigue.” Okay, what 79-year old *doesn’t* have these symptoms? Anyways get well soon Brandon. Or don’t.

My immediate thought upon hearing this news was “I guess he didn’t take his individual responsibility seriously enough”. After all, wasn’t it Biden himself who told us several months ago that it wasn’t up to the government or the CDC to handle things anymore, it was our “individual responsibility” to figure out how to avoid catching Covid?

As I used to tell my soldiers when they would make a dumbass decision - “That was a bad judgement call and now you get to live with the consequences”.

Biden’s Covid news also reminded me of VP Harris saying “We weren’t expecting Omicron. How could we?” Um, anybody who bothers to read even one of Ed Yong’s articles on Covid or who paid attention in a high school science class would know that basic viral behavior isn’t that complicated to understand. That’s how.

In case VP Harris reads this - a virus will infect as many hosts as possible and they do so by mutating as they go. Eventually they burn out or run out of hosts. “Hosts” can mean human beings and/or animals and Covid definitely likes human beings. Mutating means the virus changes to avoid burning out or to avoid vaccinations made to render it useless or mild and as long as there are available hosts, especially unvaccinated hosts, that significantly increases the possibilities of mutation as the virus keeps circling the globe. Each new mutation makes any prior vaccinations less useful. That “learning as they go” is a pretty fucking important point to remember. If one type of mutation doesn’t work, it tries again. And again. And again. And…so on. Thanks to the governments of rich countries too concerned with drug company CEO’s profits and politicians too apathetic, incompetent & willfully stupid, covid has been allowed to continue to circulate the planet, mutating as it goes. Humanity did not come together to make sure every country had vaccines and a way to get them to everybody. Oh fucking well, right?
