every time a new statue comes down i feel like a little kid riding a new rollercoaster for the first time. you'd think eventually the novelty would wear off, and with it, the excitement. but every damn time i'm just like "yes, that was awesome! again! again!"
Yessssssss. All of this. I love that one of the Christopher Columbus statues was pulled down, landed in a body of water, and its Google Maps location was immediately updated to show that.
We had a couple who was arrested for trying to pull down our biggest State Douche from the capital grounds but no more luck so far. Ah well, at least we can be proud of Bree Newsome down here.
While it wasn’t a rogue toppling, I watched Stonewall Jackson get taken down by the city in Richmond and it was one of the most satisfying experiences of my life. Especially when a guy with a pro-monument flag got booed out of the crowd, had his flag stolen, and had it set on fire.
