Just like with Iraq, the MSM and libs and war crime-enablers want to blame and punish the left for accurately calling a spade a spade and calling a genocide a genocide too early, i.e., when it was in an early enough stage to actually do something about it. No, the respectable thing to do is to never learn anything, never hold anyone accountable, and just throw up our hands and say with faux-compassion “who could’ve predicted this?”
Same as whatever thinkpiece chud it was who tossed out, "Actually, the left is partially to blame for all this fascism by calling the fascists 'fascists' this whole time, forcing the fascists to become fascists in response."
It is so telling that this series of turns comes after the killing is due to starvation as opposed to bombs. If you condemn bombs, you might have to figure out where those bombs come from and how you might have enabled them to get there, but condemning starvation? Easy peasy. "Just feed them, Israel, and you can get back to bombing them without us saying anything," seems to be the clear message.
The knee jerk reaction by the Tommy Vietors of the world to constantly lecture the left about “coalition building” is always nauseating, but it is downright evil when it comes in defense of those who have either been apathetic or complicit in 2 years of genocide. These people are irredeemable.
fuckin eh man. that smarmy pod save shithead’s response is infuriating. so many people are gonna die and these fuckers want us to just ignore the blood these politicians hands? because they finally did less than the bare minimum (the bare minimum would be to actually call it a genocide)? un fucking believable
Empathy that needs headlines isn’t the kind that saves lives.
Public displays of feeling are easy when suffering is undeniable and documented. The hard part is caring when the world isn’t watching, or when it might cost you something.

Hearing Jacky Rosen suddenly try to join humanity is particularly hard to take given that she went so far as to condemn Biden's empty threat to withhold military aid if vague humanitarian criteria weren't met in Gaza not because it was empty, but because it even pretended to impose conditions on military support for the Zionist regime:
'Take, for example, Senator Jacky Rosen of Nevada, who has recently become ‘gravely concerned by the increasing starvation in the Gaza Strip.’ Nearly two months after Gallant’s announcement that Palestinians in Gaza would be starved to death if they weren’t bombed to death first, and barely a fortnight after the US-Israeli assault on al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s only tertiary trauma centre, Rosen took to the Senate floor to issue a full-throated condemnation… of the Palestinian resistance.
In it, she recited a litany of debunked Israeli claims about alleged atrocities committed during the resistance’s October offensive, falsely stated that the November ‘humanitarian pause’ was broken by Hamas, and topped off her vile genocidal apologetics with an impassioned plea for ‘unconditional’ military aid to the genocidal regime.
‘[T]o my knowledge,’ Rosen said, ‘Congress has never used conditions on security assistance in order to strong-arm Israel, and now’ – in the midst of a genocide that had by then already murdered over 20,000 Palestinians, 8,176 of them children – ‘is not the time to start.’
Nearly a year later, in December 2024, when murdered Palestinians numbered at least 50,000 and five months after the Lancet, one of the world’s most respected peer-reviewed medical journals, had published a ‘conservative estimate’ that the actual figure by July of that year was ’186,000 or even more,’ and UN bodies were already warning that the US-Israeli blockade of humanitarian aid was causing catastrophic levels of hunger in the Gaza Strip, Rosen was up for reelection. Her opponent in that race, challenged her to ‘explicitly condemn the Biden administration’s threat to send military aid to Israel only if it allowed humanitarian aid to Gaza,’ a threat that, in the event, proved empty. Rosen happily obliged.'
Noah Kulwin on Hasan’s stream yesterday pointed out that this is likely Vietor running cover for his former boss, who finally came out with a pathetic statement.

this is a great point that i didn’t even consider. this is the perfect illustration of the “the results are bad but the causes are very gifs” meme

i know i’m repeating myself but it’s just infuriating
