I remember John McCain, when he was campaigning against Barry, was all smiles and "I don't stoop to character assassination". After Barry beat him, McCain did his level best to undermine, kneecap, or otherwise halt programs that Barry's administration was pushing. But he was always like that - if he thought you "crossed" him; recall how he undermined, kneecapped, or otherwise halted many of Dubya's programs after GWB took McCain down in 2000. McCain was a miserable motherfucker when he lost, but a Good Party Man to the end.
I'm thinking about that and Boss Ron, in that after all the exhortations about how imperative it was to bring down Big Don, did Ron support Nimrata? Nope, he threw his political...clout?...to Big Don. So, is this Boss Ron's attempt to lay a foundation for 2028, as Stephen Breyer's Ice Cream noted, because he sees Trump and "Trump" as the future of the Repubs? Dunno, but when all is said and done, it's always a good idea to be thought a Good Party Man.
The main issue I have with this version is that Donnie is a bit too narcissistic rather than vain: if he was really the Duce type he would at least have the decency not to be a slob while he’s at it.
We know how screwed we are, right? What's the plan? Everyone ready to move to Portugal or Ireland this fall? Or are we staying here and hoping that Trump sends Letitia James and Mark Miley to Guantanamo before he gets around to us?
