The enterprise to destroy our secular society is picking up steam.
And when you look at those two schools in Maine… wow. No lgbtq students. No straight children of same sex couples allowed. No gay or trans teachers allowed. The man must be recognized as the head of the household. Even the janitors must be practicing Christians?
Conservatives feign they are discriminated against to enable their discrimination. Heard that story before. Fuck you.
You look at the way Maines subsidies are structured, it’s for rural areas. So essentially, there’s only one kind of religion that can benefit from this. How convenient.
And of course, the Dems’ response will be to harumph meaningfully and shake their fists respectfully while complaining there’s nothing, absolutely nothing at all, that can be done.
This is a real massive bummer, I'm olderish (41) and grew up in a pretty religiously conservative rural community and with things like greater acceptance of gay people/marriage etc. I really thought that largely this group was wanning in its influence, so seeing this retrograde shit come back with so much strength is genuinely horrifying and again the response from Dems has been nearly non existent
What can I do here in Massachusets to ensure my state and federal taxes do not fund religious private schools. What does the SCOTUS not understand about Private vs Public and separation of church and state clause in the constitution. WHAT!
Am I the crazy one for thinking that the reasoning of Blackman, if applied equally, would prevent the Maine school from receiving funds and the Texas platform from being enacted?
