I think this is perhaps the perfect distillation of our current culture war. Up yours, woke moralists. We’ll see who cancels who.
I am trying to put myself in the mind of the kind of person that this is for. The man speaking, if you don’t know, is Jordan Peterson, the Canadian pop psychologist famous for his generally blasé philosophy of “men should be men again” and clean their rooms, organize their lives, etc. Peterson’s vaguely right-wing schtick has gotten far more noxious in recent years as he’s doubled down on the cancel culture anti-trans general bigotry while also suffering a multitude of escalating health problems due to an addiction to benzodiazepines and various insane diets he claims to be following. But since part of his brand is “triggering the libs,” he’s still afforded a pretty generous platform, despite being, as you can see from the above clip, perhaps the most impotent and embarrassing excuse for a public intellectual I have ever seen. The context of this clip isn’t even important — the phrase says it all, even though it’s borderline incomprehensible.
