pardon the digression, but i'm a little obsessed with michele bachmann, a woman ahead of her time / symbol of our rapid, horrific regression as a society. she walked (with The Lord) so the qanon congressladies AND kyrsten sinema AND betsy devos could fly, all while doing gay conversion therapy with her cartoon of a husband (who wasn't even licensed to practice therapy in the state!) AND having 23 foster kids at once, justifying / profiting from them by having her home declared a "treatment center" for girls with eating disorders, and on and on and on, her political life was truly outrageous.
i sometimes wonder if she hadn't given the "tea party rebuttal" lmao to that state of the union (oh my god her rebuttal, a cinematic classic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fRxO_Yx99I), would boehner et al. have allowed an investigation into her clumsily corrupt campaign finances, thus she wouldn't have "retired" to avoid it, instead wreaking even more havoc over the next decade, mentoring the ghouls and goblins following in her footsteps in the capitol.
