Thanks for being here y’all. As the internet has sadly shrunk, there’re only two sites I check regularly for posts and Discourse Blog is one of them.
I also firmly believe that as the world of journalism collapses, collective-owned media is the future. And it doesn’t feel like an exaggeration to say that DB and Defector showed that this was possible before anyone else was really doing it. Being part of enabling that—in whatever small way—feels fucking great, even more so because the work product being done here is awesome and necessary and hilarious and just fun to read. Keep on rocking and keep on birding. DB forever!!!
Especially with how much screwed up stuff has been happening, hearing sane voices say what should be blatantly obvious makes me feel a little less batty.
