I just find the idea of these misogynists being held to any kind of account laughable. Maybe, MAYBE they get primaried from the right by someone who's willing to throw raped five year-olds and women who had miscarriages in jail, but the actual likelihood that "moderation" comes out of the GOP at this point is a pipe dream. They've had ample opportunity to tamp down on the rabidity of the base, or the criminality of their leaders, and failed the test every single time since 2016. By now, it's just reflex. They're going to bring on Gilead, then plead to their biographers that they were the sensible ones in the room.
I think we're just a few years from some R state senator proposing a fine if a woman capable of bearing children goes an entire year without a pregnancy
