I'm so happy for my beautiful crow friends! I think no matter how this voting goes they deserve a full Bird of the Week blog for their amazing run in the tournament

There are some crows out here that have started to accompany me on part of my runs whenever the weather is good. They aren't actually accompanying me - it's more that my route takes me through some farmland, and there are two designated guard crows who follow me on the path to make sure I don't fuck with their other crow buddies engaged in the important work of getting into whatever crop is currently being grown.

I love them, and while these are not American crows (they are German crows, or at least crows in Germany), they have become a reliable part of my day. Crows are fucking awesome and deserve to win.

I've been playing "one shining moment" for crows in the park but I think they don't want to celebrate just yet

I won’t pretend to be sad to see the crow churlishly trounce the kea after the kea eliminated the lammergeier. A crow vs lammergeier final would surely have ended with mutual acknowledgment of greatness instead.

We have befriended a crow family in our shared back yard that is made up of three individuals with distinct personalities. I admire keas, and if we lived near them perhaps that would sway my vote, but I can’t go against our backyard buds.
