I genuinely appreciate the work of the Discourse Blog through this wild time. We as people strive to craft narratives to make sense of the world; to give us an inkling that somehow there's a way to control the incontrollable. It can admittedly bring calm to a very chaotic world. In actuality, we're all vessels on a huge rock in the middle of space just hoping for the best. That's it!
To put it another way - No one knows shit. At all. Ever. Treat more things like theories/hypothesises and less like natural facts and you'll be better for it. So when someone says the Democrats are cooked, or another says this is a brilliant tactical move, don't trust either of them. Find ways to help if you're so inclined/able (Time and treasure are both great things to give). Tell fascists to fuck right off. Fight with anger from having to fight for human rights in the year 2024. But don't give up.
I think the "unknowable world" stuff is a little overblown. Donald Trump is one of the most unpopular human beings in history, and Kamala Harris isn't.
