Good to do this. I can send this post to some people. My wife was badly beaten in 2002 in DC. It's had lasting effects on her, physical and emotional. She was never detained, charged with a crime, or even accused of being armed, just taken to the hospital for her injuries. I believe somewhere around the house she kept the letter from DC police excusing their behavior as proportionate and justified. She was also a minor at the time.
That's awful, I'm sure it's painful at any age but for her to have been so young, too. Thank you for sharing that, I hope she's been ok during this time.
I'm lucky that the police didn't attack during the protests I attended, but I'm passing the email along.
