War implies, to some degree, a level of symmetry between combatants. It does not imply indiscriminate murder of non-combatants and endless bombing of non-combatant targets like civilian shelters, hospitals, fucking bakeries, etc. And yet just like the term “humanitarian pause,” which before this nightmare was not something I’d ever heard prior, all the usual suspects reliably trot out the misnomer “Israel-Hamas War” when it is obvious (and becoming increasingly obvious day by day minute by minute as more non-combatants, civilians, and children die) what this is. Israel has long viewed Palestinians, and Gaza in particular, as little more than cattle. And now they’re engaged in the slaughter of that cattle. A neverending curse on all those who have facilitated this hell.

Maybe the better term for Israel's current actions in Gaza is "Palestinian extermination campaign."
