Natural gas companies financed housing for rich people? LA was settled in 1921? Some explanation needed. Also, PG&E doesn't operate natural gas infrastructure in Southern California, Southern California Gas Company does.

1 - Natural gas companies made lots of money and their executives & well-paid employees built houses in the area.

2 - In May 1921, the Southern California Methodist Conference bought 1,100 acres of land north of Santa Monica, where they began holding camp meetings in Temescal Canyon and later subdivided the land into a new development called Pacific Palisades

3 - PG&E was referenced because of their fault in previous major wildfires in California that had a very significant impact on people.
