It reminds me of people clamoring to keep hope alive through all the upheaval we are living in. “Don’t lose hope”, “You gotta keep hoping for better” and so on. I always respond that hope is useless without a plan to back it up. We have to have a plan and plans need effort or we’ll just sit around and hope ourselves into living under a theocratic authoritarian government.
